Moving Yarn

I have no pics to post today, alas, but I have been knitting and crocheting like mad, trying to use up donated yarn before the movers load up the truck and I head back out to California. I think the movers may have overestimated the weight, even though I pointed out that almost every piece of furniture I own that has a drawer in it is full of yarn. File cabinets. CD cabinets. The cedar trunk, of course. One large closet, full of bins of yarn, all numbered and logged in Ravelry. And yarn really doesn't weigh that much, at least compared to, say, books. But movers always overestimate and then refund your money if they have to, so, no worries. Best and biggest news? When I told her I was moving away, the lovely lady who loaned me her wheel said I could KEEP IT!!! That's right, a free Louet S10 for yours truly. I have thanked her profusely and asked her to tell me her favorite color and yarn weight, so I can spin her something special. In the meantime, I am bubble-wrapping, boxing, and biodegradable peanutting so the wheel will arrive in its new home, happy, safe, and ready to spin all manner of gorgeousness. More writing and more pics to come, on the flip side of this trip.

  1. I hope you will keep blogging and spinning. Your fans in Nashvegas already miss you! How about a picture of you and your wheel? :D

  2. Thanks, Carol! Pics to come, once I get back to CA and can upload them. I do have a picture of the wheel on here somewhere: Spinning My Wheels post.

  3. You get to keep the wheel! Congratulations!!!!

I love getting your comments. Thanks for sharing!
