Free Pattern: Rib-It! June Block of the Month

This two-color block is a great one for using up leftovers from a couple of skeins.

As always, the finished size as written is 8" square;  directions are included for adapting to other sizes.

Be sure to join the free knit-along, the Rib It Blanket KAL, on Ravelry, so you can chat with other knitters and post photos of your blocks.  I would really enjoy seeing them.

You can also buy Rib-It!  A Knit Sampler Throw, Parts 1 through 3, which include many more blocks that go with this one, in my Etsy shop--click here.  Or buy them on Ravelry--click here.

For the other free Rib It! Blocks of the Month, click on the Free Knit Patterns tab above and scroll down to Rib-It! for the links.

CHAIN OF TRIANGLES BLOCK
The stitch pattern is a multiple of 6 + 3.  To make a larger or smaller square, CO more or fewer sts in multiples of 6.  For a photo tutorial of how to change colors without cutting the yarn, click here and scroll down (past that free pattern) to the tutorial.
MATERIALS
Color A, about 50 yds. worsted weight yarn
Color B, about 50 yds. worsted weight yarn
#7 needles
Stitch markers
GAUGE
4.5 sts per inch

DIRECTIONS
With color A, CO 33 sts.  While this pattern does give a ribbed effect, it doesn't draw in as much as some other ribs, so we can get away with casting on fewer stitches than for some other blocks.
Knit 4 rows.
Begin Pattern:
Rows 1 (WS):  k3, pm, k2, *p2, k1, rep from * to last 4 sts, k1, pm, k3.
Row 2:  With color B, k3, sm, k1, kf&b, *sl1wyib, k3, sl1wyib, (k1, p1, k1) in next st, rep from * across to last 10 sts, sl1wyib, k3, sl1wyib, kf&b, k1, sm, k3.
