Speckled Butterfly

A beautiful knitted shawl was featured on Ravelry recently, and I was completely enchanted with it.  I wasn't going to actually MAKE it, though, until I made the mistake of showing it to a couple of friends.

Long story short, two of us are doing a KAL (knit-along, for those of you who don't know).  So I bought the pattern--fairly expensive as patterns go, but worth every penny.  The row-by-row directions are precise and there are lots of pictures.

The only thing I haven't seen mentioned is a reminder to pick up your wraps when you do a standard wrap and turn.  Luckily, I've done a lot of short rows before, so wraps & turns and picking up the wraps are pretty much second nature by now.

Lots of people are praising German short rows and other techniques, but I'm happy with how mine is turning out.  This is only the beginning!
