Flower Blocks Finished

A couple of weeks ago, I sent these blocks off to the charity that makes Afghans for Pine Ridge Reservation.  They actually go first to a woman in New Orleans who puts donations of squares together, then sends the blankets on to the reservation.

Click here to find out more about that on Ravelry.

One of the cool things about this lady is that she likes to weave in ends.  Can you believe this?!  Where has she been all our lives?!

She actually prefers donated blocks to have approximately 4" to 6" tails, so she can weave the ends in the way she likes, to make sure they don't come undone.

Sadly, I am a recovering perfectionist and I had a "slip" while making these and wove in all the ends myself.  Some habits are hard to break.  ("Don't pick up that first yarn tail!")

Anyway, the crochet pattern is Eight Pointed Flower by Julie Yeager.  Really fun to make!  And my Many Bags O' Scraps are now gone.  Done.  Finished.  At least, the worsted weight ones....

  1. Hi I leave tails as it makes it easier to use them to sew the squares together using the matching colour.
    Love the squares.

  2. I love, love, love this. It's beautiful! The colors go together so well and it makes my heart sing!! Both your crochet and your knitting is just beautiful. I really miss seeing your handmade items in person.

I love getting your comments. Thanks for sharing!
