Free Pattern: Rib It! December Block of the Month

Here's our last free Rib-It! Block of the Month.  I hope you've enjoyed the series.

This stitch pattern is fairly simple, as you will see.  Both sides are attractive but the "right side" has a tweedy look that is quite different from some of the other ribs in this series.

As always, the finished size is 8" square, and directions are included for adapting to other sizes.

Be sure to join the free knit-along, the Rib It Blanket KAL, on Ravelry, so you can chat with other knitters and post photos of your blocks.  I would really enjoy seeing them.

For the other free Rib It! Blocks of the Month, click on the Free Knit Patterns tab above and scroll down to Rib-It! for the links.

You can also buy Rib-It!  A Knit Sampler Throw, Parts 1 through 4, which include many more blocks that go with this one, in my Etsy shop--click here.  Or buy them on Ravelry--click here.

The stitch pattern is a multiple of 4 + 1.  To make a larger or smaller square, CO more or fewer sts in multiples of 4.  You can also try this with two or three colors, a way to use up scraps.  Just change color on every RS row.  Carry the color you're not using up the side; no need to cut yarn each time and weave in all those ends.  For a photo tutorial on how to carry the yarn up the side, click here and scroll down to the tutorial.
